Kinesiska tillsynsmyndigheter avbryta TV brottslighet och spion dramer

Kina har beordrat tv-stationer över hela landet att inte luft någon detektiv visar, thrillers spion eller dramer om resor genom tiden för de kommande tre månaderna.

Alla har beställts off-air med omedelbar verkan.

En tjänsteman vid Kinas statliga tv-regulatorn bekräftat för BBC att den muntliga beslut hade fattats.

Kinas kommunistparti förbereder sig för att markera 90 år sedan starten och myndigheterna vill TV-stationer i luften program prisa partiet istället.

Regeringen vill Kinas en miljard TV-tittare att ställa in en hälsosam diet av patriotisk propaganda som kommer att förhärliga partiet inför årsdagen den 1 juli.

Wang Weiping, vice chef för drama avdelningen på Kinas statliga tv-regulatorn, kallat detta en "propaganda period".

Det finns "massor av bra tv-dramer i samband med grundandet av den part" att stationer kan sända, sa han till Beijing News.

Oriental TV i Shanghai berättade för BBC att det var att skjuta upp sin spion dramatik Qing Mang, bero på luft i 10 dagar. Det kommer att ersättas med en komedi om mödrar och deras döttrar och svärdöttrar.

En tjänsteman på Oriental TV sade att regeringen ofta frågor order om vilka program bör och inte bör komma fram.
